Type Control Panel into the search box on the taskbar and open Control Panel.Method 2: Change the USB settings of your computer as follows: ![]() Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, restart the computer, and reconnect the external device. Disconnect the power supply and all external devices. Then, right-click Universal Serial Bus controller again, and click Scan to detect hardware changes. You can also uninstall and reinstall the serial port driver as follows: Go to Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controller, right-click the USB root hub (usb3.0), and choose Uninstall from the shortcut menu. Procedure: Right-click the Windows icon, go to Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers > USB Mass Storage Device, and right-click Uninstall. Method 1: Uninstall the USB mass storage device, then remove and insert the USB device again.
